Q. What happens if a customer makes a fraudulent debit card payment at the payment outlet?

A. If the payment outlet accepts a fraudulent payment paid with a debit card, the outlet is fully responsible. As the merchant suppling the goods, You take no responsibilty for accepting payment and therefore are not subject to any type of charge back or charges. You can ship the goods with complete confidence because you are guaranteed to get paid and keep the funds.


Q. When can I ship the goods to the customer?

A. As soon as you get notification from PayOffline that your customer has paid, you can ship the goods. You are guaranteed to receive the funds after this notification.


Q. Could I ever suffer a charge back from PayOffline?

A. Never, because even if the customer uses a debit card that proves to be stolen, the payment outlet is responsible for accepting payment and not the merchant. So never ever!


Q. What is an Internet Merchant ID?

A. An Internet merchant ID is provided to an Internet merchant, subject to credit checks, by an acquiring bank allowing you to accept credit/debit/charge card payments directly, rather than using a Paypal or Worldpay type facility.


Q. Why does PayOffline have different holding periods dependant on trading history?

A. For merchants who have a good trading history and receive a good credit score from our credit agency, no holding period will apply and we will transfer the funds to you within 24 hours of PayOffline receiving the funds. For merchants with limited or no trading history, for security we will hold the funds on your behalf for periods of upto 30 days. With PayOffline, fraud can only happen if a merchant takes the money but never ships the goods. In all cases where we decide on holding periods beyond 5 days, we will closley monitor your account and reduce your holding period as quickly as our risk department allows. Unfortunatley, these are rules set by our Insurance company


Q. What type of background and credit checks do you perform?

A. We use an industry leading business credit checking agency who gather publicly available information from many different sources and generate a complex credit score for your business. These checks are conducted in complete confidence and can only be done with your expressed permission. See our terms and conditions for more information.


Q. Where can I download PayOffline logos?

A. PayOffline logos and marketing material can be found at the Logo Centre in the support section of the PayOffline website.


Q. Why am I getting a "Parameter validation error"?

A. The main cause of this is because wrong values are being submitted to the PayOffline API, in most cases it is the wrong merchant Key and Secret Key. If you are in test mode please ensure that you are using the Merchant and Secret key found in the Test Settings page of the PayOffline Test Centre. If you are in Live mode please use the Merchant and Secret keys found in Merchant Setting page of the PayOffline Administration Centre.


Q. I am using a shopping cart, how can I test my integration?

A. If your shopping cart supports PayOffline test mode, you can log into the PayOffline Test Centre to view your test transactions.
